Be a Tourist in Your Own Town

AL!VE, along with the Charlotte Aquatic Center and the Museum at Courthouse Square, is proud to be part of the annual Be a Tourist in Your Own Town celebration Saturday, June 4, coordinated by the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau. For only $1 you can purchase a passport (they are available in GROW at AL!VE), which allows you to visit all of the participating attractions for free Saturday. You can also continue to have your passport stamped throughout the month of June, which can then be mailed in for a prize drawing. Below is the list of activities happening at AL!VE during Be A Tourist in Your Own Town:

  • 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.: Basketball: All ages drop-in
  • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Facility tours
  • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Indoor and outdoor walking paths
  • 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Workout in MOVE, the fitness center
  • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Play in GROW, the enrichment area for children ages 2 to 12 (includes 36-foot tree house, kid's crafts and outdoor play area)
  • 8:05 a.m. – 8:55 a.m.: PiYo
  • 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Zumba
  • 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: CrossFit
  • 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Strength & Stability
  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: CrossFit
  • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Basketball: Adult drop-in (18 years and older)
  • 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Baskeball: Open shoot
  • 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Rock climbing on ASCEND, the 24-foot rock wall
  • 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.: Cooking demonstration in RELISH, the teaching kitchen
  • 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.: Half-court activities in SOAR, the multi-purpose gym, including dodge ball and open-shoot basketball
